Support for Teaching and Learning

Thoughtful use of new and innovative pedagogies is an important component to supporting the student learning experience. Thus, opportunities for learning and incorporation of digital resources (content, Canvas, tools and technology) as a companion to instruction are valued and supported at UW Tacoma.

Workshops, fellowships,  brown bags, research seminars and anytime-access to some of the most interesting new tools in the digital learning space are happening here on campus and through our tri-campus teaching initiatives.

Collaboration between our teaching faculty and Academic Affairs' various support services such as the UW Tacoma Library, Academic Technologies, and the Faculty Resource Center has allowed the campus to create a digital community of practice that centers on the evaluation and implementation of new practices to engage and inspire an increasingly diverse body of students.

Faculty interested in learning more about new developments are encouraged to visit our Academic Innovations site or visit Colleen and Darcy's blog for more details about emerging teaching practices at UW Tacoma.
