Using the UW Tacoma logo Consistent use of logos, color palettes and typefaces helps to reinforce the University's image and brand standards. This leads to easy identification of publications that represent our campus by our internal and external audiences. Best efforts should be made to ensure that the following guidelines are followed and that brand standards are met. Electronic files of the UW Tacoma logo are available for staff and faculty to use on the Share drive at S:/Everyone/Logos. Outside partners who need a copy of the logo should contact the Office of Public Relations and Communications. USE OF THE LOGOS Any publication or other printed material that will be seen by anyone outside of UW Tacoma faculty and staff must have a UW Tacoma logo somewhere on it. For general guidelines on how to use the logo, along with color specifications and other style guidelines, please read the Signature Logo Systems Guidelines (PDF). You are also welcome to contact the Office of Public Relations and Communications for assistance with logos. We are happy to work with you to provide the proper logo sized to fit your needs. GENERAL GUIDELINES
We are aware that some campus signage and materials may still use old logos. These are being updated as resources allow. Publications Review All printed materials (not correspondence, of course) going to current students, prospective students or the community must receive a pre-publication review by one of UW Tacoma's staff members who has specific professional responsibility for maintaining campus standards for publications. In practice, before you send items such as fliers, newsletters, invitations or posters to be printed or distributed, you must bring the item to the Advancement Office (Carlton Center, Suite 200). The reception staff will help you locate one of us to give your item a timely review. Those with responsibility for approving such items are: Mike
Wark, Director of Public Relations and Communications We make every effort to provide a quick turnaround for such materials, but we are also here to make sure that the campus presents itself in the most professional and appropriate way. We may edit the wording for a variety of reasons (for clarity, for conformity to campus publications style, or to make sure you achieve the result that you want). We will check to see that a logo is present and properly used, and we may recommend adding language on disability accommodations or other standard disclaimers. Sometimes, we are able to approve items with no changes at all. More often we find some minor edits or design enhancements are necessary.
