Academic Technologies (AT), along with Computer Services and Media Services, is one of the support services within Information Technology. AT is dedicated to supporting faculty, staff and students to enhance the instructional environment and improve learning outcomes.
The Mission of Academic Technologies (AT) is to work closely with faculty to explore, evaluate, implement and support the use of technology in teaching, learning and research at UW Tacoma. We provide support in multimedia/digital image production, audio/video streaming, collaboration software, Internet resources, Blackboard course management system, faculty technology training and development, instructional design, technology sandboxes, as well as other innovative and emerging educational technology services for our campus. |

Moodle Pilot Project
For Spring Quarter 2009, UWT will be running a Pilot of Moodle, the open source Learning Management System (LMS). This system is running alongside UWT's current LMS, Blackboard.
This is in an effort to evaluate an alternative LMS that best suits UWT's needs.
Faculty Workshops are here!
Beginning winter quarter 2009, AT will offer technology workshops for faculty on Catalyst tools such as WebQ, Collect It, Go Post, CommonView, and Gradebook. We will also provide workshops on Blackboard, Podcasting basics, and more! Check out the registration page for the current schedule.
