Elizabeth Alexander earned her doctorate in Strategic Management and Public Policy with an interdisciplinary minor in political economy and international business from the School of Business at the George Washington University, Washington D.C. Dr. Alexander brings prior experience in both business and in the education field. She worked in management consulting in KPMGs Economics and Strategy Group in Scotland as well as ran her own consulting business. She has experience of working with SMEs to develop and implement strategy and with public sector agents to develop strategies for economic development. She taught undergraduate strategic management and business for many years in the U.S. before joining the faculty of UWT.
Specialty
Dr. Alexander's current scholarship explores how firms seek to acquire technological knowledge through collaborative strategies with other organizations in their search for innovation. She is investigating whether the form of the collaboration is relevant to the performance outcome of that collaboration across different types of national institutional environment. She is also investigating the extent to which multinational firms can source knowledge effectively from their global operations and collaborations.
