Several overarching and inter-related interests inform Dr. Chio's engagements in these streams of research: (1) an interest in interdisciplinary studies and frameworks such as critical sociology, cultural/social anthropology and postcolonial studies, (2) an interest in critical theories and methodologies, and (3) an interest in issues and concerns connected to the international and cross-cultural terrain [or diversity more generally].

Current research
Dr. Chio is currently working [with Dr. B. Banerjee] on a research proposal connected to the forms and practices of collaboration in the UN Global Compact. This is part of her research focused on issues of development, sustainability and corporate social responsibility as these pertain to the international arena.
