MBA: Analytic Research and Internship
Analytic Research
TBUS 569 is an independent study research course ranging from 2 to 4 credits designed for Tacoma MBA students only. MBA students interested in the course must develop a research proposal and make arrangements with a faculty member to supervise the project prior to course registration. Permission of faculty is required. A maximum of 8 credits of TBUS 569 can be applied toward the master's degree.
Please refer to the Procedures section of the TBUS 569 Analytical Research Form
for the steps involved in exploring a specific business topic with a Milgard School of Business MBA faculty member.
Research topics are ideally explored with a faculty member the quarter before undertaking the research. The completed TBUS 569 Analytical Research form must be submitted with complete signatures and proposal attached to the MBA Adviser the first week of the research quarter.
Internship
TBUS 568 is an internship for 3-5 credits that allow students to explore new career avenues or to extend their current career experience into new areas. It involves explaining knowledge and skills through on-site project work with an organization. Requires written internship plan and faculty permission prior to registration.
Refer to the TBUS 568 MBA Internship Guidelines
in planning an internship. Advance planning is highly suggested with the supervising faculty member and the MBA Adviser the quarter before an internship opportunity is explored. The written internship plan complete with all required signatures must be submitted to the MBA Adviser the first week of the internship quarter.
