7th Annual Business Leadership Awards: Nomination Criteria

The Milgard School of Business at the University of Washington Tacoma invites nominations from the South Sound community (Pierce, Kitsap, Thurston, and South King Counties) for its 7th Annual Business Leadership Awards.

As a nominator, please complete the on-line form indicating why you believe the nominee should be recognized as a leader in the South Sound Business Community. You may take a broad approach to discussing the nominee's accomplishments, but the letter should be descriptive enough to give the judges a sense of what he or she has done. The letter may include any or all of these items: a ) the nominees's leadership qualities, internally within the organization; b ) how a nominee has helped grow his or her company, or industry; and c ) how the nominee has served the community. Remember, this letter reflects your reasons for choosing this individual for recognition.

There are five core competencies (Integrated Business Knowledge, Strategic Thinking, Communication, Teamwork, and Professionalism) that shape academic offerings at the University of Washington Tacoma's Milgard School of Business, which are among the factors considered by the judges in selecting a recipient in each of the following categories:

Business Leader of the Year

Individuals in organizations with more than 50 employees.

Small Business Leader of the Year

Individuals in organizations with 50 or fewer employees.

Non-Profit Leader of the Year

Nominations for the 7th Annual Business Leadership Awards closed on December 7, 2007. Our panel of judges have met and chosen this year's recipients. Registration for the Awards dinner will begin in February 2008.
