Applicants must be accepted by the Graduate School and the Milgard School of Business in order to matriculate.
Plan Ahead
Applications are only accepted for Autumn quarter. Visit UW Tacoma's Application Dates page for details. Submit your application before the listed priority date to ensure consideration and review of your materials for completeness.
Apply to the UW Graduate School
Complete the on-line UW Graduate School application for an application fee of $50. Print a copy to include with the Milgard School of Business required application materials.
Applicants holding Permanent Residence Status and an international baccalaureate degree (or higher) also complete the UW Graduate School application on-line. The following documents must be mailed to the office of Graduate Admissions by January for fall quarter admission consideration and before submitting the MBA Program application materials.
- A copy of the Graduate School Application form, signed (original signature) and dated.
- International transcripts with degree statement, including date of graduation and title of academic degree awarded. All coursework with grades issued for each year completed must be submitted for proper evaluation. Transcripts must be in the native language and accompanied by a certified English translation.
- International transcripts are considered official if they have been certified or attested, signed in ink by the proper school authority and carry the seal of the school. International transcripts should be sent in a sealed envelope if possible. In some circumstances, the Graduate School  will accept exact copies duly certified as such by the Registrar of an accredited institution in the United States previously attended by the applicant. Such copies must be sent directly from the U.S. institution in a sealed envelope.
- Request Educational Testing Service, PO Box 6151, Princeton, NJ 08541-6151 to  forward your TOEFL score report using the institution code #4854. Score reports more than 2 years old (from the test date) are not valid.
- Graduate Admissions mailing address:
- Office of Graduate Admissions
University of Washington
PO Box 84808
Seattle, WA USA 98124-6108
The Office of Graduate Admissions assesses and evaluates international degrees based on the following:
- The characteristics of a national system of education in the home country
- The type of institution attended
- The field of study and level of studies completed
- Official accreditation/recognition status of school
Since there are no U.S. federal guidelines on admission, each institution determines its own policy on prior degrees. At the University of Washington, you must have at least a baccalauteate degree equivalent to a regionally accredited U.S. institution to apply for admission to this graduate school.
