Notification Methods

Notification Schedule

Suspension decisions should be made prior to the following times, although unanticipated weather or emergency conditions may alter this schedule:

6:00 AM: Early morning classes from 8:00 - 11:00 AM.
9:00 AM: Mid-day classes from 11:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
2:30 PM: Late afternoon/early evening classes from 4:30 - 8:00 PM.
5-6:00 PM: Late evening classes from 8:00 - 10:00 PM.

Suspended Operations Policy and Guidelines

In the event of severe weather conditions or emergency situations, campus leadership will make a decision no later than 6 a.m., earlier if possible, about whether to suspend operations for the entire day or operate on a delayed schedule. When operations are suspended, classes are not held, administrative offices are closed and events and activities are cancelled. When a delayed schedule is used, classes and offices would resume operations at 10:30 a.m. or noon, depending on conditions. In either case, information will be available as early as possible.

If operations are suspended for evening classes, an announcement will be made by 2 p.m. that day. In a situation with unusually severe storm conditions, an announcement could be made later. When evening operations are suspended, classes are not held, administrative offices are closed and events and activities are cancelled. Suspension of operations for an evening does not determine whether or not the university will suspend operations the next day. You must check in the morning.
