Charity Fair and Food Drive Challenge

Tuesday, October 20
11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
William W. Philip Hall

Meet with representatives from more than 50 local, regional, and national charities. Drop by and enter to win a variety of fabulous door prizes throughout the event, and chat with our event sponsors and participate in the campus wide food drive challenge.

We are very excited to share with the campus community that all food collected during the Charity Fair will be donated to B.A.S.H. – Bikers Against Statewide Hunger. B.A.S.H is a local food bank located in Tacoma that is dedicated to serving those in need. They are the only mobile food bank in Pierce County making deliveries to those who are unable to make a trip to their office. In addition to delivery services they offer in-office pickup of food twice a week.

Last year we collected just over 500 items and we are confident this year we can easily double that number. To ensure we do, we are sweetening the pot a bit with A CHALLENGE!

The department and student leadership team that collects the most food proportionately (using a specialized algorithm) will go down in history as the 2009 Charity Fair Food Drive Challenge Winners. Your departments/student leadership team’s name will be placed on a perpetual plaque and additionally a special little treat will be delivered for your eating pleasure.

For more details, contact Jo Enscoe at 2-5728.

Bring your checkbooks or cash with you and take a look at the beautiful baskets — some functional, educational or just plain decadent — which would accent any home or make a lovely gift for a friend or loved-one.
