Committee on Accessibility

Charge:

  • The purpose of the Committee on Accessibility will be to establish and maintain easy access within and between buildings on the UW Tacoma campus for all people with disabilities. The role of the committee will be to advise the Vice Chancellor for Administrative Services on ADA compliance of facilities, to review plans for campus expansion and provide input related to access, to make recommendations for changes needed to improve the accessibility of existing campus facilities, and to review safety policies for the movement of people with disabilities throughout campus in the event of an emergency. The committee shall also serve as a conduit for the securing of state and/or federal dollars when possible for use to improve accessibility throughout UW Tacoma facilities.
