Creating a course website

Faculty have several options when creating a Course Web Site

Blackboard

Blackboard is a free collaborative web tool for putting instructional courseware on the web. Blackboards online teaching and learning environment brings together content management, assessment, communication, and collaboration capabilities for enhancing in-class instruction. Putting your files on the web is as easy as attaching a file. This tool is easy to learn and use. It includes a forum, virtual chatroom, and group collaboration tools.

Catalyst

UW Seattle Catalyst has developed templates to make it easier for you to create a class Web site. The set of six Web pages includes individual files for a course home page, syllabus, class schedule, class notes, and exams & tests. You are free to use all six pages or just one or two, and can modify them in any way useful to you.

Web-enabling your Homer account

Before using the Catalyst your Homer Account must be web enabled. If it is not go to: http://www.washington.edu/computing/web/publishing/courses.html
