Biography
Beth Kalikoff's areas of scholarly interest in Writing Studies are Writing Education, Assessment as Democracy, and Popular Literature. She studied at Johns Hopkins University (B.A.) and Indiana University (Ph.D.) Her scholarship and creative work have won national prizes, including a Choice Outstanding Book Award. "Dying for a Blue Plate Special," her mystery novel set in Tacoma, was published by the Five Star Mystery Line in May 2005.
"Writing for Teachers," "Writing for Social Change," "Writing Effectively," and "Argument and Research in Writing" are among the courses Beth Kalikoff teaches. Additionally, she offers graduate classes in IAS and Education and serves informally as coordinator for IAS linked courses.
