Julia has worked at the University of Washington in Tacoma since 1997, where she has held positions as program administrator for Urban Studies (2000-2005) and the Milgard School of Business (2005-2012). She recently rejoined Urban Studies program and is positioned to help the program during its new phase of growth and development. She has been nominated for the UW Distinguished Staff Award in 2011 and 2008, and won the UW Tacoma Distinguished Service Award in 2003. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Colorado State University. She holds professional membership with the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) and National Association of Graduate Admissions Professionals (NAGAP). In her free time she enjoys spending free time with family and friends. She stays active doing outdoor activities with her dogs, Clyde and Hilda, who often join her mountain biking, hiking, and occasionally fly fishing in the Methow Valley.
