AmeriCorps: Washington
The oldest publicly-funded statewide service program in the nation, the Washington Service Corps (WSC) engages the talent, energy and enthusiasm of individuals 17 and older in addressing critical needs in communities across Washington State. Since 1983, 13,000 WSC member have contributed more than 16 million of hours of service. The WSC works with private non-profit organizations and units of local government to address unmet community needs in the following priority areas: education; environment; emergency preparedness; other human needs; and public safety.
