M.Ed. Admission & ApplicationPlease note: all enrolled students are required to provide proof of measles (rubeola) immunity. Students will not be allowed to register for any classes until the UW Tacoma Registrar's Office confirms that they have satisfied this requirement. Students born before 01/01/57 are considered to be immune to measles and therefore do NOT need to submit proof of immunity. Admission RequirementsAdmission to the Master of Education program requires that applicants be simultaneously admitted to the UW Tacoma Education program and the UW Graduate Admissions. Complete applications received by the priority application dates posted at right will be assured of a review; complete applications received after the priority application date will be reviewed on a space-available basis. Remember, several items are required to complete your application. Transcripts often take several weeks to arrive. Your application will not be reviewed for admission until all materials have been received. In addition to the completed application form, the following are required:
Application ProceduresApplicants must apply online to the UW Graduate Admissions and also submit required documents to the UWT Education Program. The application checklist is a helpful document to ensure that all items are complete. No action can be taken until all materials are received. Visit our Admissions page to download application materials! Please note: When you are prompted to "Select a graduate program", be sure to select "Education-Tacoma Campus" from the drop-down menu. All other Education listings refer to Seattle-campus programs.
Tuition Information and Financial AidVisit the Office of Enrollment Services for specific information on tuition rates and financial aid. Graduate students have the option to complete the Master of Education degree on a part-time or full-time basis. However, different criteria and standards for full-time enrollment exist for eligibility in special programs (e.g. veteran's benefits, Bureau of Indian Affairs, vocational rehabilitation and various forms of financial aid). Information on the Department of Veterans Affairs and Financial Aid may be obtained from the UWT Office of Enrollment Services, or by calling (253) 692-4400. Transfer CreditsAn admitted graduate student pursuing the Master of Education degree program may petition to transfer up to six graduate quarter credits or four graduate semester credits completed at another accredited graduate school. Restrictions apply; contact the Education Program for more information. |
