Professional Certificate Admission & ApplicationPlease note: all enrolled students are required to provide proof of measles (rubeola) immunity. Students will not be allowed to register for any classes until the UW Tacoma Registrar's Office confirms that they have satisfied this requirement. Students born before 01/01/57 are considered to be immune to measles and therefore do NOT need to submit proof of immunity. Admission RequirementsComplete applications received by the priority application dates posted at right will be assured of a review; complete applications received after the priority application date will be reviewed on a space-available basis. Remember, several items are required to complete your application. Transcripts often take several weeks to arrive. Your application will not be reviewed for admission until all materials have been received. To be admitted to the Professional Certificate Program (PCP) at the University of Washington, Tacoma, applicants must meet the following requirements:
Application ProceduresApplicants can choose to pursue the Professional Certificate with M.Ed., or the Professional Certificate only. Application procedures will differ depending on which option is chosen. Option 1: Professional Certificate with M.Ed.To apply for the Master of Education program, please review the current M.Ed. Application Requirements. Application materials are available online for your convenience. For questions about the Master of Education program, please contact the pre-admission advisor, Carla Van Rossum, at (253) 692-4437 or carlavr@u.washington.edu. Option 2: Professional Certificate OnlyApplicants must first contact the Education Program office at (253) 692-4430 or email uwted@u.washington.edu to request appropriate Non-Matriculated application information. Please state that you are pursuing the Professional Certificate only. Use the current application packet that will be mailed to you. Applicants pursuing the Professional Certificate only must enroll in the Preassessment Seminar in their first quarter. Please note that the seminar may not be offered every quarter. |
