Professional Certificate Program Requirements

In addition to the State of Washington Professional Certificate requirements, students must complete the following coursework (students must choose one option).

Option 1:
Professional Certificate WITH M.Ed.
Option 2:
Professional Certificate ONLY
  1. TEDUC 550 Preassessment Seminar
  2. TEDUC 552 Culminating Seminar
  3. Core Courses
  4. Study Option Courses
  5. Education Electives
  6. Non-Education Electives
  7. Culminating Experience
  1. TEDUC 550 Preassessment Seminar
  2. TEDUC 552 Culminating Seminar
  3. Selected coursework in consultation with an adviser
Minimum of 45 credits required Minimum of 17 credits required

Students will be assigned a UWT Portfolio Advisor during the Pre-assessment Seminar. This adviser will stay with the student throughout the Professional Certificate process, and be on call for advising and portfolio development questions, as well as tech support for the electronic elements of the portfolio. Each Professional Certificate student will be assessed a portfolio fee.

Focus of Professional Growth Plan to be determined by the Professional Growth Team within existing study options plus UWT core and elective classes.
