If you have completed at least 40 college-level credits after graduating or leaving high school, you should apply to the University as a transfer student. College-level coursework completed while in high school in a program like Running Start is different. Running Start students apply as freshmen, regardless of how many credits they have completed.
Transfer students must meet the following admission requirements for admission to the University:
Students who have completed a transfer degree at a Washington state community college with a minimum 2.75 GPA are guaranteed admission to the University. Admission is not guaranteed to a specific academic program.

If academic program requirements or credit minimums have not yet been completed, you may be admitted to and enroll at the University of Washington Tacoma by completing the Undeclared Application (Pre-major). You should first consult with an admissions adviser regarding the availability of space and the appropriateness of applying as a pre-major.
Students who have completed 75 or more credits are strongly encouraged to apply to an academic program. Additionally, certain courses are limited to students in the major, so admission to a major may facilitate progress to a degree.
