Other information

UW Tacoma's Office of Student Financial Aid can help you find ways to supplement your funds and pay for your education.

To be considered for any type of financial aid, including scholarships, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online. The FAFSA can be completed at any time, but for priority consideration you should make sure to complete it by February 28. After this date, we will strive to ensure students receive aid commensurate with their need.

  •
  • Autumn quarter financial aid will begin to disburse September 24, 2009 (including UWT scholarships). If you have enrolled in direct deposit, please allow up to 3 business days after disbursement for the funds to reach your bank account. If you have not enrolled in direct deposit, you will need to complete a check request form through Student Fiscal Services (SFS) .
  •

  •
  • If you will not take full-time credits Autumn quarter, please email our office at osfatac@uw.edu with the total number of credits you will take for this quarter. Please note you must be at least half-time (6 cr undergrad/5 cr graduate) to be eligible for loans or loan deferment.
  •
  • If your employer or another agency (not VA) will be paying your tuition please visit the Student Fiscal Services (SFS) website regarding third party contracts.

  • If you are participating in the Dual Enrollment program for autumn and wish to receive aid at UW Tacoma, you must be enrolled in at least 10 credits at UWT and submit a dual enrollment request form to the Registrar. This form will be forwarded to financial aid and any holds on your aid will be removed. Please note we will also need to verify completion of the TCC course(s) at the end of the quarter.
