About the UW Tacoma Online Time Schedule

The UW Tacoma Online Time Schedule is a Web based reference tool designed to display information about courses and classes offered for an academic quarter. The information is sourced from databases hosting details about each class offered by the various UW Tacoma schools and departments.

The data available to display in the UW Tacoma Online Time Schedule is updated daily. However, a cancelled class may appear in your query results, if that class is cancelled during the same day of the query.

The Search Page

1. The academic quarter listed in the drop-down box is the most current quarter for which registration has opened. For instance, if it is currently Fall quarter but Winter quarter registration just opened up, then Winter will be the default.
2. You must choose at least one of these eight criteria for your search. An error message will appear if none are selected. Selecting too many criteria may also result in no classes found.
3. To organize the order in which results will be displayed, you can select one of the criteria listed in this drop down. The default sort is by "Class" (i.e., TPSYCH 312A).

The Results Page

1. Click on the text "MyUW" to access tools for registering. This link will open in a new window.
2. This list is the result of a query looking for a 5 credit class available on Tuesday and Thursday that satisfies a ""Quantitative and Symbolic Reasoning" Area of Knowledge requirement. The list of results has been sorted by the default "Class" option.
3. The "AoK" table heading is a link to information defining and explaining the abbreviated codes in the AoK column. Click on the text to view the information.
4. The text in "Title" column provides links to information about that course. Click on the text in this column to view the description.
5. Use the "Back" link to go back to the search page with your previous search criteria preserved. Use the "New Search" link to clear the form for a fresh query on returning to the page.

An Error Message Page

1. The Status Code will tell you generally why you found no results for your query. If you contact tacdata for assistance with your query, this code will be helpful in investigating the problem.
2. The "Try Again" link will take you back to the search page with your previous query options preserved.
3. This link will send email if you need help. Typically, you will have a reply the same day.

A Course Description Page

1. This area of the page displays a file hosted on the UW Seattle Web site that describes the course content. Typically, the text will be displayed for the course selected, however occassionally, it may be necessary to use the scroll bars of the embedded window to view the text.
2. Occasionally, the text for the course description is not properly centered in the embedded window on the Web page. To view the description for the course, use the scroll bars to position the text properly.
3. To print the contents of the embedded window, you must first select its text. On Windows, place the cursor in the embedded window and right click. Choose "Select All" to highlight the text, then right click again to choose "Print." Then, in the print dialogue box choose "Selection" in the "Page Range." For Macintosh users, use "Control" + click to select and print the highlighted text.
