What is TRIO?

This program is a partnership between the University of Washington, Tacoma and the Metropolitan Development Council.

The Metropolitan Development Council is a local nonprofit community action agency that has served Tacoma and Pierce County since 1964. The Educational Talent Search program is intended to motivate and support students from disadvantaged backgrounds, and help them to progress through the academic pipeline from middle school to post baccalaureate programs.

The Educational Talent Search program staff conduct outreach to Mt. Tahoma High School and Lincoln High School, plus several middle schools that feed into those institutions.
