The University of Washington Tacoma offers a variety of scholarships for students. Some are based on merit; others require applicants to demonstrate evidence of financial need. Students who wish to demonstrate financial need must submit a FAFSA by February 28.
Most scholarships are offered for the start of the school year (Autumn Quarter) and have deadlines about six months before Autumn Quarter. Start your search early, at least 12 months prior to needing the funds. You do not need to wait until you are admitted into your program of study to apply for most scholarships.
The UW Tacoma diversity website contains a list of outside scholarship sources that serve particular demographic populations. For more information, see Scholarships for diverse populations.
