UW Direct Deposit

The University encourages all employees to have direct deposit. On payday, your money will be in your account at the opening of the financial institution's payday. Direct deposit of your payroll check means no lost or stolen paper checks, no waiting in line to pick up a payroll check and no special trip to your bank or credit union. Many financial institutions offer incentives such as "free checking" to encourage participation in Direct Deposit. To view incentives from the banks and credit unions, see Links to Banks.

Pay Advice Slips

Remember that pay advice slips are now available electronically through ESS. You can log in and get your own Printable Earnings Statement any time. By no longer printing these slips automatically, the UW is saving $73,000 per year. If you still want a printed pay advice slip, you must opt in. Learn How to 'Opt In/Opt Out'.
