Better Your Own World PARTY
Ever looked at the world and said, "Somebody should do something." Well, you are a somebody, so what can we do? Better Your Own World (BYOW) is a grassroots organization and event that happens on the small scale with potentially far-reaching responses and effects. How could a group of 20 make a difference? Call for submissions!! AISTHESIS: Honors Student Journal
AISTHESIS invites submissions in all academic disciplines of research work, fiction, poetry, visual art, photography, etc. from any undergraduate student working in an honors program or course. Submissions may also be sent electronically to hons@d.umn.edu.
Authors/creators must be current honors students or students enrolling in honors classes. Written work should not exceed 5000 words. Photographs: we prefer black and white. Please do not send original art-work as it will not be returned. Text files in Word or plain-text format are preferred. Please do not include graphics files that might create formatting problems. Submissions will be reviewed by a student and faculty editorial committee.

UWT Library Tour for Global Honors Juniors
As a Global Honors student the library should be your friend. Take advantage of this Global Honors exclusive tour with Justin Wadland, the library's International Studies librarian on the following dates:
- T GH 301A: Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 12:15-12:45
- T GH 301B: Thursday, Oct. 10 at 12:15-12:45
- Your professor will accompany you to the library near the end of class. If you need to eat a small snack, plan to do so before entering the library.

Scholarship Application Due
The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship is one of the ways you can fund your study abroad. October 7th applications are due for funding for the following spring. This scholarship is due in April for fall programs.

Campaign 2008 Presidential Academic Seminar Series: The Presidential Inauguration
The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars has invited talented honors students to participate in this academic seminar January 10-20, 2009. Highlights of the program include well known speakers, a reception at the US Chamber of Commerce, a visit to the Newseum, and a special Washington Center performance by political satirist Mark Russell. Participants can also apply for tickets to attend the Presidential Inauguration on January 20th.
