About Us

History and Mission

The Global Honors Program was created in 2005 to offer highly motivated students ways to broaden their education by applying global perspectives and international experiences to their coursework. It opened its doors in Autumn 2005 to 13 students.

Global Honors students get the best of the UW experience: personal interaction typical of study at UW Tacoma and opportunities offered by a great research university. Working with an exceptional group of faculty with international reputations, Global Honors students discover exciting opportunities for study, participate in collaborative interdisciplinary learning that complements work in their major, and enrich their lives at (and beyond) UW Tacoma through study and work abroad.
