Admission

graduation certificate

In order to be eligible for Global Honors, students must have a minimum 3.5 cumulative grade point average (either from UWT or the incoming transfer GPA). This GPA must be maintained through out the duration of the UWT career.

Global Honors is a competitive program. Students will be selected on the basis of academic achievement (a GPA of 3.50 during the first two years of college-level work) and their potential for bringing unique perspectives and making an exceptional contribution to the program. Students normally enter the program in Autumn Quarter of the junior year as members of a cohort. Students will not be admitted within their final 45 credits before graduation.

Global Honors applicants must submit the following:

Deadlines and Interviews

Space permitting for Winter 2010, applications are due December 1st. Interviews will be scheduled before Winter Break if there is room in the program. You will be contacted to schedule a personal interview after all of your application materials have been received and reviewed.

For Fall 2010 applicants, plan to submit your materials in August 2010. By this time, applications will be available online. More details to come.

Applicants to the UW Tacoma Global Honors Program must first be accepted to the University of Washington Tacoma. Global Honors is not a degree-granting major; therefore, students will need to apply to an academic program at the University of Washington Tacoma. See the Admissions website for application deadlines and information.
