Study Abroad
Global Honors students are strongly encouraged to participate in a study-abroad experience as part of the program. The idea of traveling and studying abroad can be both thrilling and intimidating, especially if you have never traveled outside the United States before. But this experience opens intellectual and personal doors and is central to the kind of global understanding that is the foundation of the Global Honors Program at UW Tacoma.
The University of Washington offers a large number of programs from which to select an international experience. (In fact, students may also participate in programs affiliated with other schools as well.) Depending on budget, educational goals and time commitments, students may choose to go abroad for as little as three weeks (the minimum required for those choosing study abroad) or for an entire quarter or more. Students who study abroad are required to share their study abroad experience at the Global Honors event in the fall.
