Training and Development
Additional UW Training Resources |
|---|
The University of Washington, Tacoma is committed to providing growth and development opportunities for our employees. In harmony with this commitment, we attempt to coordinate at least one formal Training & Development course at the Tacoma campus each quarter. We also arrange for informational seminars regarding UW Benefits, Investments, Family Resources and other Work/Life topics.
Professional development is an essential part of an employee's job at UW Tacoma and benefits both the institution and the individual. While the responsibility for career and professional development rests with each staff member, UW Tacoma provides its employees with a variety of resources and assistance in reaching professional and career goals.
Upcoming Professional Development Opportunities
UWT Human Resources Department is looking for new and different ways to provide training and development opportunities despite budget reductions. Here are some opportunities for UWT staff…
- Layoff Resources
- To support staff who may be impacted by layoff as well as remaining staff, Human Resources has developed and compiled a list of resources that staff are encouraged to take advantage of during this time of transition. Some resources are applicable to both groups while others are more tailored to meet the specific needs of one of these groups. The List of Layoff Resources contains detailed information about all of these opportunities available to staff.
- POD Course at UWS: The Resilient Organization
- Budget cuts, hiring freezes, increased workloads--with so many things threatening to hold you back, how can you keep your organization moving forward?
- Continuing Studies Classes offered to UWT Staff Free
- Continuing Studies (a.k.a. The Key Bank Professional Development Center) has come forward to offer their exceptional classes and certificate programs to UW Tacoma employees at no cost to participating employees, departments, or the University.
- Catalyst Free Computing Workshops at UWS
- UW Catalyst offers eight series of free computing workshops to UW staff and students.
