FlexPass
The FlexPass is a pass that allows you to ride Pierce Transit, Sound Transit and Metro Transit, anytime, anywhere without paying fare. Now, it is even good on the Sounder Train! More than a dozen Pierce Transit routes serve the UWT campus. (See Riding the Bus.) All but one of these routes travel Pacific Avenue and serve sheltered bus stops on the east and west sides of the street. Flexpasses are available while supplies last.
SAFE Ride
Employees can also take advantage of the STATE AGENCY FREE EMERGENCY Ride - SAFE Ride program so you don't have to worry about getting home if you have an emergency or a sudden schedule change. Simply contact our Employee Transportation Coordinator!
Vanpool
Your FlexPass is worth $40 of the monthly vanpool fare. The Finance Office is billed by the transit agency and the FlexPass holder pays the difference. (See Vanpooling.)
Buying a FlexPass
Good for as much as $4 in transit fare every time you use it, the FlexPass gives you lots of travel choices and costs just $43 per quarter for UWT students and $58 per quarter for UWT employees. Supplies are limited; the Flexpass is sold on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last.
Purchase your FlexPass from the Campus Cashier with your current employee ID and a completed FlexPass Order Form. Employees can purchase a quarterly FlexPass via payroll deduction. Because there are six pay periods every quarter (two per month), the payroll deduction amount is less than $10 per pay period.
You might be asked to present University identification when using your FlexPass. The pass is the property of the University of Washington, Tacoma. A FlexPass cannot be used by anyone other than the person to whom it was issued and cannot be sold or transferred. Misuse will result in confiscation of the card by the University, Pierce Transit, Sound Transit, or Metro Transit.
