Confucius said, "Yu, shall I teach you what knowledge is? When you know a thing, say that you know it; when you do not know a thing, admit that you do not know it. That is knowledge." (2:17)

Dr. Hanneman earned her B.A. in East Asian Studies from Western Washington University, and her M.A. in East Asian Studies from Yale University. She is the faculty adviser for the Minor in Asian Studies.
