- Distinguished Research Award
- May 2007—Congratulations to Anthony D'Costa , who has won this year's UWT Distinguished Research Award . Anthony, a political economist, is one of the founding faculty in the IAS Program at UWT. "Anthony has attained a national and international stature as one of the foremost experts on the intertwined cultural, political, and economic dynamics of globalization." "Anthony D'Costa's empirically based international research involves him actively in a broad network of professional, business, and local communities, resulting in requests and opportunities at all levels flowing from India, East Asia, and the US [both locally and nationally]."
- John Banks to host seminar at IGERT Colloquium
- May 2007—John “Buck” Banks will give an invited seminar in mathematical biology entitled “Ecotoxicology & insect population dynamics – beyond matrix models“ in the Ecosystems Informatics IGERT Colloquium, Oregon State University, Corvallis, Oregon in June 2007. He also recently published several articles in collaboration with colleagues from Washington State University, North Carolina State University, Jaglellonian University (Kraków, Poland), and USDA-ARS in Hilo, HI
