Internation Programs: Environmental Focus
England

This summer, eight students and two professors from the Interdisciplinary Arts and Science Program at UWT embarked on a trip to the Jurassic Coast of southwest England to study geology, landscape and culture.

These projects will all be highlighted in an upcoming course web page.

Costa Rica

Environmental Science Profressor John Banks spent the summer in Costa Rica studying the biodiversity of insects and plants in coffee fields. Read about it in the latest edition of Terrain.

Kenya/East Africa

The Environmental Program at UW Tacoma announces a new study abroad field course to be offered in East Africa in Winter 2010. This course, centered on a three and a half week visit to Kenya, will expose students to critical issues in conservation and sustainability, with special reference to biological diversity, development, and grass roots environmental efforts.
