How to Apply

Applying for admission to the Master of Arts program is a two-part process requiring application to the University of Washington Graduate School and submission of required supplemental materials to UW Tacoma.

Before you begin, verify the quarters in which new applications are accepted. Be sure to submit your application before the listed application deadline to ensure consideration:

Get a Copy of the Application Kit

Print out a copy of the IAS M.A. Application Kit. It has everything you need including:

• Instructions
• Application Checklist
• Request for Recommendation
• Request for Transcripts

Apply to the UW Graduate School

Complete the UW Graduate School application online. Print a copy for your records.

Mail Your UW Tacoma Application Packet

Your completed application packet will contain these supplementary materials:

1. Statement of intended area of focus
2. GRE scores
3. Two official transcripts from every college attended
4. Copy of current resume
5. Three recommendations
