Undergraduate Advising Overview
During the admissions process, pre-admission advisers, recruiters, and evaluators in the Office of Enrollment Services are available to you. They match your interests to the appropriate program, make sure your records are received and evaluate your credits. Once this process is complete, an admission letter is sent and you become an IAS student.
At that point, academic advisers and faculty in the IAS program will provide advising for you. Student Affairs will continue to support you in your stay at UWT through the many services of the UWT Counseling Center, as well as Financial Aid and Veterans' Affairs.
You are required to make an appointment with an adviser within your first two quarters. We recommend that you check in with your academic adviser at least once a year. We have found that the ever-changing nature of our program (new courses added every quarter, new faculty, and all the changes that go along with keeping 13 concentrations up to date) presents opportunities for you that are not generally known without advising. This is a two-year program for most students, so we want to give you all the information you need as soon as possible!
