Welcome to IRP In support of the mission of the University of Washington Tacoma, the Office of Institutional Research and Planning (IRP) exists to advance the understanding, planning, operation, evaluation, and improvement of the University. IRP is committed to working in a spirit of cooperation and integration with all university stakeholders. We value respect, openness to change, and timeliness. Our mission is to perform accurate data research that further enhances the quality educational environment of UW Tacoma. The Office of Institutional Research and Planning provides students, faculty, and staff services designed to create the timely and actionable data and information necessary to meeting the needs of our diverse community. These include: Data Retrieval - Using University and IRP databases, IRP researches trends and investigates applicant information, alumni data and student, staff and faculty demographics. Data Gathering and Reporting - To keep UW Tacoma current with national and local trends, IRP performs community and in-house surveys, focus groups, interviews, and statistical projections. External Data - IRP identifies and gathers data from disparate resources such as the U.S. Census Bureau, U.S. Bureau of Labor and Statistics, the Higher Education Board, and the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges and other national and regional agencies and organizations, to support the information needs of the UW Tacoma community. |
