A key component of the IRP strategic plan is the timely, accurate, and service-oriented provision of customized data to all university stakeholders. This is accomplished through the merging of traditional institutional research and leading-edge information management techniques and tools, creating a strategically proactive data management and research repository for the University of Washington Tacoma.
To promote consistency and clarity in data informed decision making, IRP has developed a one-stop Web site that provides interactive reports for a broad range of university stakeholders. In collaboration with both the academic and administrative departments of the institution, IRP has compiled a list of needed reports and is now in the process of building the reports utilizing Microsoft Reporting Services and Analysis Services. This promotes consistency by ensuring that everyone is now pulling data from the same source, and provides clarity by allowing the end-user to easily, and graphically, select the needed parameters for the report and then export to either Excel or PDF format, or print out the results. This website has both public and secure log-in components.
