UW Tacoma Quick Facts
The University of Washington Tacoma was founded in 1990 to provide opportunities for bachelors and masters degrees to students located in the South Puget Sound region of Washington State. It is one of three campuses of the University of Washington with companion campuses located in Seattle and Bothell. The campus covers approximately 420,000 sq ft in downtown Tacoma's Union Station neighborhood, a district of historic warehouses built in the late 1800s and early 1900s at the western terminus of the great transcontinental railroad.
Originally established as a two-year institution focused on four-year degree completion for transfer students, UW Tacoma welcomed its first freshman class in 2006. Undergraduate and graduate schools and programs include:
