Five Years of War, at Home and Abroad
In the five years since the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, the War on Terror has become a regular part of American life. Join members of your community to reflect on the nature and consequences of this ongoing conflict.
The UW Tacoma Library will offer two film events that examine the War on Terror. After each film, local experts will respond to the topics covered and a facilitated discussion will follow.

The Ground Truth: the Human Cost of War
This newly released film presents the experiences of men and women who have volunteered for service in Iraq , documenting their recruitment, training, combat, homecoming, and struggle to reintegrate with their families and community.

Unconstitutional: the War on Our Civil Liberties
This film scrutinizes the Patriot Act, comparing its broad provisions to rights guaranteed in the Constitution. Personal stories from ordinary people reveal how the government has used the Patriot Act to encroach upon our freedom.
