- Masters of Photography - Offered as part of Mark Harden's Artchive, this site contains selections of work from well-known photographers, as well as articles about each of the photographers.
- Modern Photographers Collection - "A selection of images from the work of nationally and internationally renowned local photographers Art Hupy, Ernest Kassowitz, Kyo Koike, Frank Kunishige, Mary Randlett and others."
- Photomuse - A collection of over 1600 photographic images from the International Center of Photography and the George Eastman House.
- Corbis - A collection of more than 70 million images that include commercial, editorial, historical, celebrity and news photography. Images can be used and downloaded for a fee.
- Getty Images - Offering two large collections of creative and editorial images that cover a wide variety of topics, available for a fee.
- OpenPhoto - Provides hundreds of photographic images covering a variety of subjects for free commercial and non-commercial use.
- The Stock Solution - A collection of stock photography and "photo-illustration," downloadable for a fee.
- AP Photo Archive (UW Restricted) - Millions of news photographs dating back to 1826, more than one million audio sound bytes dating from the 1920's, among other digital resources.
- Corbis images for education (UW Restricted) - Historical, fine art, science, and nature images from the Bettmann Archive, United Press International, and the Hulton Deutsch Collection.
- UW Digital Collections - Includes photographs, documents, and audiovisual resources from the UW Libraries, UW faculty and departments, and from organizations who have partnered with the UW on collaborative projects.
- American Memory Project - A multimedia website of digitized historical documents, photographs, sound recordings, moving pictures, books, pamphlets, maps, and other resources from the Library of Congress. More than 100 collections and 9 million individual items are available.
- NYPL Digital Gallery - Provides access to over 337,000 images digitized from primary sources and printed rarities in the collections of The New York Public Library, including photographs on a variety of subjects and covering different time periods.
- Online Archive of California - Provides access to an array of historical materials from a variety of California institutions, including museums, historical societies, and archives.
- Smithsonian Images - A collection of digital photographs of historic events, as well as displays, objects and artifacts in the Smithsonian collections, offered by the Smithsonian Photographic Services. Images can be downloaded for personal and education use.
