For Faculty & Instructors

Collaborate with your librarian to promote independent inquiry, refinement
of research abilities, and critical thinking skills for your students.

Course-related instruction sessions

Arrange for in-class instruction tailored to your course or assignment.
Sessions are designed to develop students' knowledge and effectiveness in
using resources appropriate to the discipline. Examples of instruction
topics include distinguishing popular and scholarly journals, strategies
for use of online search tools, evaluating print and online sources, and
the publishing cycle. Please request sessions at least two weeks in
advance
to allow librarians appropriate time to prepare.

Specialized consultations

Your librarian can support you in designing assignments that foster the
development of research skills. Your librarian can also assist you by
creating customized print or online research guides that you can integrate
into Blackboard, your website, or course reserves.
