Requesting Copies of Print Periodicals from Seattle
Use the Request/Place Hold link in the UW Libraries Catalog to request the particular volumes or issues that you want.- You will need to do a separate request for each date you order.
- Not all periodicals are “requestable;” some may be used only in the library in Seattle.
Requesting Newspapers & Periodicals on Microfilm
Fill out an Interlibrary Loan “Request a Newspaper” order form for EACH date.
a. Go to the Interlibrary Loan page
b. Click on link for “Current UW & Cascadia Students, Faculty & Staff”
c. Log in with your UWNet ID
d. Create an account if you are a first-time user. If you have an account, click on the button for “Request a Newspaper”
Viewing Microfilm at UW Tacoma Library
1) Most of the microfilm you order will be “Library Use Only” – you will not be able to take it out of the UWT Library
2) The film will be checked out to you for two weeks
3) The UWT Library has 2 digital microfilm readers which are connected to our printers. Printing costs $.12 page and requires a copy card
4) If you are new to the microfilm readers, please allow extra time your first visit for reference staff to assist you.
