Group & Collaborative Study Rooms

The Library has a number of rooms available for collaborative work.

Group Study Room Policies
  • Rooms may be reserved for GROUP PROJECTS ONLY except LIB 139 during open lab hours (12:00-3:00 pm, Monday-Friday).
  • A MAXIMUM OF TWO HOURS may be reserved at one time.  If more time is needed, it may be added within 15 minutes of the end of your time if the schedule is open.
  • Your reservation will be held for 15 minutes only.  After 15 minutes, the room will be open to anyone waiting.
  • You must come into the library to sign up – reservations will not be accepted over the telephone.
  • Current UW students have priority use of this room at all times.
Collaborative study rooms:
LIB 251, LIB 252, LIB 136a
Features: table and chairs for a small group, whiteboard, wall-mounted collaborative computer with a posable monitor

Collaborative presentation room:
LIB 239
Features: mobile desks, whiteboards, projector, ergonomic wall-mounted computer, wireless mouse/keyboard and projector remote (available at circulation)

Computer Classroom
LIB 139
Features: 9 computer stations in a classroom format, instructor station, projector (remote available at circulation). This classroom is also a GIS lab. Open lab hours are 12:00-3:00 pm, Monday-Friday.

Chihuly Room
2nd Floor tower
Available for group use after 5:00 pm and on weekends. The Sign Up sheet is available in a binder kept on a bookshelf endcap near the room's entrance.
Features: whiteboard, large round table with chairs, and an excellent view of Tacoma.
