Aurora Alcaide Ramírez, a painter and assistant professor of fine arts at the University of Murcia, Spain, reflects on the changing role of visitors to museum exhibitions has changed in recent years in Europe. If before visitors were passive subjects, nowadays they are very active and their actions are essential to the final meaning of the works. Ramírez will take as an example a contemporary art exhibit in Sevilla, Spain, titled "Youniverse."

Paint the Park Purple Day

Cheney Stadium
Friends of UW Tacoma, along with alumni, students, faculty and staff, will fill Cheney Stadium, home of the Tacoma Rainiers, with purple and gold on June 20, Paint the Park Purple Day. The minor league baseball game is a fundraising event, featuring a silent auction of game-worn purple baseball jerseys co-branded with UW Tacoma and Rainiers logos.
