Guest speaker Brian Ebersole, former mayor of Tacoma and former speaker of the house in the Washington State Legislature, will speak on the topic of legislative process. Ebersole is one of many key politicians who will present as part of the Navigating Public Policy program offered by the University of Tacoma KeyBank Professional Development Center. More information.

The American Society for Environmental History will present four films, free and open to the public. Earth Days begins at noon, with introduction by ASEH Director Lisa Mighetto. Everything's Cool will show at 2 p.m.; Arid Lands at 3 p.m.; and Saving Luna at 5 p.m. More information.

Jill Brandenberger, M.S., a research scientist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratories, will present a lecture, "Relationship Between Pacific Decadal Oscillation and Paleo-Tracers of Hypoxia in Sediment Cores from Puget Sound, Washington." This is one of six fall lectures in the year-long series. Refreshments provided, free and open to the public.
