Despite a few brief rain showers, students and their guests
enjoyed the commencement ceremony at the Western Washington
Fairground. With 850 graduates, the Class of 2005 was the
second-largest in UWT history. Nearly 7,000 students have
graduated from UWT since it was established in 1990. See

IAS
graduate Deo Bahado, a Bremerton resident, completed his concentration
in Global Studies. Past IAS graduates have embarked upon careers
in a wide variety of industries, including education, finance,
communication, law enforcement, engineering, government and
more. See

Gov. Gary Locke delivers the commencement address. Locke,
the nation's first Chinese-American governor, spoke about
the importance of higher education in his life. See

IAS
students share a laugh during the program. Nearly 300 IAS
students earned Bachelor's degrees this year. IAS, UWT's first
program, has granted almost 3,000 Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor
of Science degrees since it was established in 1990. See

from that program this year. Education students intern in
19 school districts, from Bremerton to Olympia, and many continue
to teach in the region after graduating. See
