Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing

Sigma Theta Tau's Psi Chapter-at-Large recognizes and promotes scholarship and leadership in the profession. Membership to this University of Washington sponsored chapter is by invitation only and based on the requirements below.

Eligible students receive Sigma Theta Tau invitations early in Winter Quarter each year. Eligibility is calculated after Autumn Quarter grades are posted. A spring induction ceremony recognizes members annually, usually in May.

Eligibility Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Nursing students:

• completion of one-half of the required nursing component of the BSN curriculum (at least 16 of the 35 required credits of nursing content) by the end of Autumn Quarter
• cumulative grade point minimum 3.0
• rank in the upper 35% of the graduating class

Master of Nursing students:

• completion of the equivalent of one-quarter of the required MN curriculum by the end of Autumn Quarter
• GPA of 3.5 or higher
