Completed applications received by February 15 will receive a decision by April 30. Applications completed after that priority date will be considered as space allows and receive a decision in approximately 8-12 weeks. NOTE: several items are required to complete the application. Transcripts may take several weeks to arrive. Applications will not be reviewed for admission until all application materials have been received. Pre-major admission is offered in all quarters. Applicants may complete prerequisites or required electives prior to beginning required nursing coursework, but they are strongly encouraged to contact the Nursing program office first. |

Applicants to the UW Tacoma BSN program must meet the following requirements:
- Current licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Washington (Provisional admission is offered to students in the last year of an associate degree in nursing program). Advanced placement (junior year) credit is awarded based on verification of successful completion of NCLEX (RN) exam.
- One year of clinical practice (previous nursing school clinicals apply as experience)
- A cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.0 in all college coursework
- A minimum of 90 quarter credits (or 60 semester credits) in associate and prerequisite coursework
- UW Tacoma Nursing requires that all applicants use the online service, Verified Credentials, Inc., to obtain required background checks. Please be aware that there is a $69 fee for this service. A background check is a required part of the admission process.
- You must read and agree to adhere to the Essential Behaviors for Admission, Continuation and Graduation.
- A minimum grade of 2.0 in each of the following prerequisites courses:

| Microbiology | 3-5 credits May be satisfied by Excelsior exam |
| Advanced Mathematics | 5 credits (May be petitioned) |
| Statistics | 5 credits UW School of Nursing Approved Statistics Courses May be taken at UW Tacoma |
