BSN: Not a Registered Nurse?

A UW Tacoma Nursing applicant must have already earned an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from a community college or have been awarded a Diploma in Nursing by a hospital-based nursing school. To enter the BSN program, a student must have a current Washington State RN license.

ADN grads who have not yet taken the NCLEX-RN examination may apply for provisional admission.

Community College RN Programs

After graduating from a community college Associate Degree in Nursing program and passing the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) for Registered Nursing, a student would then be considered for admission to UW Tacoma's BSN.

Four-year BSN Program

UW Seattle's School of Nursing external UW Web site offers a four-year BSN path that does not require an RN license for admission.
