The Key to Technology Integration
The presence of technology and Internet access in classrooms is becoming more common. Actually using this technology with the curriculum is difficult because both the technology and the curriculum are undergoing rapid change. The best use of technology with the curriculum depends on the technology and the curriculum we have now. This course provides a solution to the problem of technology integration no matter what new technologies arrive and no matter what new curriculum is put in place.

Introduction to Curriculum Design
Investigates instructional design models as applied to curriculum design. Every teacher at some point finds that the adopted textbook for a subject does not address every curricular goal adequately. Teachers often find themselves creating curriculum and materials from scratch. The process of curriculum design and instructional design are well understood and can help teachers create more effective and complete curriculum.

What's the Research Say?
Educational research has always been regarded as uneven in quality. Some studies are too small, some are methodologically flawed, and others are poorly designed. Thus, educational policy and even classroom practice have not always used the research to buttress decisions. But, now the NCLB suggests (and requires in the case of a failing school) the use of SBR (Scientific-Based Research) for materials and practices in the classroom. It is now necessary for classroom teachers to have some familiarity with the parameters of quality regarding educational research.
